Another purchase for my Who vinyl collection, this time an album from France simply called The Who. One side is a condensed version of Sell Out, the other side and the reason I bought the album is that it has a condensed version of A Quick One. As the album was only 7 dollars I thought it was a cheaper alternative to buying a copy of A Quick One, even vinyl reissues of that are hard to come by and although I have some favrorites on the album it is a bit uneven.
The studio version of the title track isn't on here but I always prefered live versions anyway and I have the RnR Circus one on the Kids Are Alright album. Whiskey Man isn't on the France Who album which is too bad, I love that song but I have that on the Ox compilation. Heatwave isn't on either but I already have a version on the Who's Zoo bootleg. The other track not represented is Cobwebs and Strange which is too bad but I can always enjoy that on my cd reissue copy of A Quick One and the Kids Are Alright dvd.
Apart from the missing Whiskey Man and Cobwebs, all the tracks from the A Quick One album I think are great are included like Run Run Run, Don't Look Away and So Sad About Us.
